Traveler Overseas Magazine selects whichbox™ Platform to launch new world traveler site
November 23, 2010 FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE Dallas based Traveler Overseas magazine, the essential guide for the experienced world traveler, and WhichBox Media, a Dallas-based online publishing technology company, today announced the selection of the whichbox™ Platform as the foundation for reinventing Traveler Overseas as a leading edge online publication. The new Traveler Overseas is slated to launch in Q1 2011.
Traveler Overseas publisher Steve Connatser commented, “When I launched Traveler Overseas magazine, I was quite aware that I would not be able to make a go of it strictly by publishing the print magazine. Yet these many years later -- I still am left with only 2 real revenue streams: ad revenues and subscription revenues. My association with whichbox™ has changed everything. whichbox™ enables me to concentrate on the other hats I must wear: I can oversee the editorial needs that are at the heart of publishing; I can finally launch what will be the most comprehensive travel website in the business, including a number of innovations I have wanted to launch for years; I can pay better attention to cash flow and the bottom line; but most of all, I can give myself time to create and nurture these new revenue streams that I previously had neither time nor avenue to pursue. Put simply, I can make more money by being on the whichbox™ Platform.”
WhichBox Media CEO Bettina Bennett added, “we are thrilled to help Traveler Overseas magazine Online emerge not as a routine cannibalization of their print magazine but as a leading digital media web property with truly next generation interactive features and an empowered community who can tell and share their “all-media” stories using the whichbox™ organic storytelling™ technology. We are proud to be working with Steve to reinvent what it means to be a “travel site” online.”
WhichBox Media is a Software as a Service (SaaS) company, providing a next generation content creation and management, online publishing, social networking, and social media technology platform.
Built by publishers, media and marketing experts, for publishers, media companies and brands, the turnkey whichbox™ Platform was designed to be THE online content solution: a) for struggling online content owners to refocus on their core: creating compelling content, engaging their audience and monetization, instead of technology, and b) for brands to finally create authentic, non-fragmented connections with their audience.
“We’re really excited to be working with Steve on this project, and we can’t wait to unveil the powerful new tools and features that we’ll be rolling out in the months that follow the site launch,” said WhichBox Media CTO Patrick Seaman.
